How to clean stainless steel pans
Let an uncoated stainless pan cool, wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge, then rinse and dry. Use the maker’s method for marks that remain.
Cleaning steps
- Let the pan cool before washing.
- Soak stuck food in warm soapy water.
- Wash with a soft sponge or cloth, then rinse and dry.
- For remaining marks, follow the maker’s instructions for the exact uncoated surface.
What to avoid
- Do not use steel wool or oven cleaner.
- Do not apply stainless cleaner to a nonstick interior.
Clean without scratching
Let the pan cool. Soak stuck food in warm soapy water, wash with a soft sponge or cloth, then rinse and dry. All-Clad permits a nonabrasive, non-chlorine cleanser for stubborn marks on its uncoated stainless cookware.
Keep coatings separate
A stainless exterior does not mean the cooking surface is uncoated. Do not apply stainless cleaner to a nonstick interior. All-Clad excludes steel wool, harsh abrasives and oven cleaner.
