Let an uncoated stainless pan cool, wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge, then rinse and dry. Use the maker’s method for marks that remain.
Overheating, abrasive cleaning and unsuitable utensils can damage a coating. “Nonstick” alone does not establish allowed tools or temperatures.
Rainbow color on uncoated stainless can follow high heat. All-Clad recommends white vinegar and a soft cloth for this discoloration, followed by rinsing and drying.
Let a pan cool before checking whether it rocks. Sudden cooling of hot cookware can distort the base. Ask the maker about a bent pan rather than improvising a repair.
Some nonstick products allow metal utensils; others require soft tools. Current HexClad TerraBond cookware and All-Clad HA1 Ceramic allow metal, while Caraway ceramic tells you to avoid it. Match the exact coating below.
Check care and oven limits, or check the base against your cooktop.
